I Did My Own Makeup!!!

Okay, for anyone who knows me, this is a big deal. I was so proud of myself! I am not a big makeup girl. I barely wear any (as you have seen in previous photos of me). But we got the stuff we needed at Bare Essentials, and the day of the wedding, everything just seemed to go my way! I am so happy with how it turned out!!

And a non-pro picture, so you can see how it "really" looked...

Me and my sister-in-law!! I really couldn't be happier with how my make up turned out. I'm so glad we didn't pay someone to do it!

So if anyone is thinking about doing their own makeup, my advice is to go for it! If I can do it, you can too!

I Am No Beauty Queen

But I do have a few great beauty finds to share with you!

I grew up close to the beach in hot, humid Florida. I have never been one to wear much makeup. When I moved to "the South" for college, I was blown away by the amount of makeup that girls wore! It just wasn't me. I told people I was more the "natural" type.

Well, my face needs more than just the "natural" look. A bad bout with chicken pox and the scars of acne have left my face full of blemishes. I just don't like to take the time to put on makeup in the morning.

The photos from a recent dress fitting reminded me that I should never go without makeup ever again. No, those pictures will not be appearing here - scary!

So I went to the closest Ulta (if you have never been to this store, you must check it out!)

I finally tried bareMinerals. Uhhh...where has this been all my life??

It is so easy to apply, and covers my blemishes with ease! Amazing! I wore my new "face" to my bridal shower if you want to see pictures of how it turned out. I even had people who asked me who did my makeup for the shower!

My other great find is too fabulous to not share with you. And it comes by way of CoverGirl. Yes, CoverGirl. Have you seen their new Outlast Lipstain?

Trust me, it lives up to the hype! And in case you want to see an example, I have it on in my bridal shower pictures too. :) I hate the taste of lipstick and hate that it wears off so quickly. This solves both problems! Put it on in the morning, and it lasts all day. Really. To make it look fresh, just put the lip gloss on. Perfect! I have a feeling this will be my wedding day lip color.
