Once I started stalking wedding blogs and wedding websites, it became evidently clear that a wedding would not be complete without one. (Brainwashing, serious brainwashing I tell you.)
There is a plethora of options out there for your perfect card box.
We have the tacky box with tassle...
Despite my sarcasm, I have do have a cardbox for our wedding reception.
Which version do you think I chose? Did you /will you have a cardbox at your wedding?
I'm still trying to figure this one out for myself. To box or not to box, that is definitely the question.
ReplyDeletei went with the simple 'looks like a present' cardbox. it was cute, but wasn't really worth it. it was too small & no one could find it.. people kept handing me cards all night. sadly, you also have to be careful about the staff stealing cards (crazy i know). ask your venue first if they have a box, but also nominate someone (i used my day of coordinator) as card keeper.. & find a secure place to keep the cards one the reception starts!
ReplyDeleteI bet you got the birdcage....
ReplyDeleteThey also make a cardboard steeple one. I've seen it at AC Moore....
I'm about the birdcage. The rest are kinda ehh. The birdcage could possible be decor afterwards.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.. I just don't know : )
ReplyDeletei love the birdcage...but honestly i used a tin...for the cards..7.00 at michaels..and it was simple...cute...i think the large cardboxes are tacky...
ReplyDeletei love how the birdcage has the ribbon woven through it. very cute.
ReplyDeletei bought a metal box with a damask looking pattern cut into it at hobby lobby - 50% off, of course. i am not sure what it is intended to be used for. but it's very cute. and it can be used after the wedding for home decor. and it has a lid, so the cards won't fall out or be taken out "subtley."
let us know what you chose!
I love the birdcage with the ribbon. Just so romantic and cute. But I also like the photo frame box.
ReplyDeletethe stacked ones and birdcages are both great choices. we will have a card box at our reception and love the look of a stacked one that looks like wedding cakes. some places sell them, but we just might make our own. can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteMy mom and I (mostly my mom since she is so darn crafty) made the stacked box/wedding cake looking card box. It turned out beautiful! I thought about the bird cage but my mom is paranoid because she has heard about instances in which people steal wedding cards (who does that). So, in order to get to the cards I will have to destroy our card box.....makes me sad but what else would I do with it after the wedding. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI got a birdcage...for $2 at an auction...so there's a slight chance at one point a bird did live in it! haha! I think once I slap some ribbon on it, a new paint job, and a cute sign it will look quite nice!
ReplyDeleteI like the birdcage, but just remember so few people bring the card to the wedding/reception, you may just want to asign someone to hold them for you (an aunt or uncle maybe) and the photo box looks like a funeral urn. Aunt C
ReplyDeletemy mom and I were just having this conversation - I can't make up my mind as yet :/
