Cake Panic

Picking out a cake design has been one of the hardest parts of this wedding planning process for me.

And tomorrow is the deadline. I MUST order a cake!

I have looked at so many pictures of cakes. I've talked before about how I learn visually. It is hard for me to imagine in my mind what something will look like. I think this is what makes the cake design so tough - I like pieces of different cakes, but have no idea how they will look together!

I know I want buttercream (or cream cheese) frosting. And I know what the flavors will be. But the rest is a mystery to me.

I pulled all the photos from my "cake inspiration" folder (once again with no sources - dangit). Can anyone make sense of all these and tell me what I want my cake to look like? Thanks.

:)

  3. It looks to me like you want something in a round, three tear with piping detail (the swirls and dots). Maybe with your initials somewhere on the cake. I think you should look for something mostly white, with accent colors like black and maybe red.

But that's just my impression :) Good luck ordering your cake!

  4. Looks like you like a bunch of different cakes. However, I think you want a round three tier white cake with texture and possibly some anenomies decorating it. I like the first cake a lot. Simple, sweet, yet elegant. Can your baker sit down with you and sketch something out for you to "see"?

  6. The first picture is actually what my cake will look like! I think we must found it from the same magazine?

    Good luck with the decision!

  7. It appears you want a white round, 3 layer cake with contrast piping with either your monogram or flowers on top or at the side.
