I am a terrible runner. My family jokes about how slowly I run. But I actually like running (or at least the idea of running.)
I have always wanted to do a half-marathon.
I am seriously considering doing the Disney Princess Half-Marathon in March.
Have I lost my mind?
I don't think you've lost your mind at all! I just started this program called Couch to 5K. I'm just finished my 2nd week today. There are some continuing programs for a 10K too! There are some free podcasts with music to tell you when to walk/run which I use and are really helpful! There's also a great fan site on Facebook with a lot of great support! Here's a link the the site.

I'm not paid by them at all, but it seems to be working for me so far! Good luck!
You should DO IT!! I trained for my first 1/2 last year...before I started training I ran like 2miles max...but the training schedule really does work and as long as you stick to it you will be able to run it no problem! In fact I enjoyed it so much I'm running my second 1/2 in a few weeks!
ReplyDeletegoogle "hal higdon half marahton"...thats the schedule I used!
No, DO IT! I run a marathon and a few half marathons too. Check out Galloway's run-walk train program. I followed it and loved it!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! Slow and stead wins the race, babe!
Go for it! Imagine how proud you'll feel after you've done it! I'm too scared to do any sort of running that not's running for the bus!
ReplyDeleteIf you're gonna run a marathon, a Disney Princess one is the way to go! :)
ReplyDeleteOr you could do the Women's Half Marathon (put on by Women's Running magazine) on November 22nd. It's in St. Petersbug too. Oh and the course is very walker friendly... it will get you going for the Disney's Princess Half in March!
