I Need Some Accountability

I have been avoiding this topic on my blog, in any depth at least. Most likely because too many people I know read it! But the time has come. With just nine weeks until my wedding, I need you to hold me accountable. About what?

Weight loss.

Those pesky ten pounds.

My sweet fiance tries to help, but often finds himself getting in trouble when he tries to tell me I can't have that extra serving of dinner, or that brownie I'm craving. It's probably not fair to put him in that spot. So, I'm turning to you, my faithful readers, for some encouragement and accountability.

Nine weeks. That's it. Time for no excuses.

My stomach has been a bit messed up this week, and that has been my excuse for avoiding the gym. I did go for a nice walk last night and then did 150 (girl) pushups (in 25 pushup sets). I'm thinking that I may drink the kool-aid, and go buy Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred today.

Everyone I hear talk about it seems to love it. Have you tried it?

So here is the starting poing. I am 5'6" and this morning the scale said 145.2. I'll try to keep you updated on a weekly basis. Anyone else want to join me on this journey?

  1. Good for you posting this! I definitely have some pounds to lose before our big day in September and just this week got my butt in gear with daily workouts on the elipitcal and salads for lunch. I haven't heard about the 30 Day Shred, I suppose my friends aren't losing weight right now ;) If you try it let me know. But I know you can do and will lose gorgeous on your big day!!! ♥

  2. We've been doing it for about 2 weeks now! We love it. It's tough! I started out using 5 lb weights, now I use 8 for level one! It's a killer!! This video is my favorite as far as short, quick, painful, burning workouts! =) AND it was cheap!

  3. Try not to fret, lovely girl.

All I can say is focus on how good you feel after a workout, whether it's for 15 minutes or 50 minutes.

I can't ever work out at home, but I do love Jillian on The Biggest Loser. She scares me, in a good way.

  5. I know I'm not getting married or anything soon, but I bought the 30 day shred and Brooke and I started on Wednesday. It is kicking our butt, but we love it! You should start doing it and we would all be right on track together :)

  6. Hey girl! I'm sure you know by now that I LOVE the Shred! I haven't lost a ton of weight, but I've lost about 3" on my waist in a month and my arms look pretty awesome! Plus, I'm getting great abs and that cool "V" that guys get. It's definitely worth it, and even if you don't lose all 10 pounds, you'll feel and look like you're in great shape.

I also count calories on Livestrong.com. Just put in your information and it tells you how many calories to eat to achieve your weight loss goal. I have the blackberry app, which makes it really easy when I'm eating out.

    You can do it! :)

  7. The shred is a a kick-butt workout but don't expect the scale to drop fast. I have found that if I do this faithfully at least 4 times a week, I don't really budge weight wise, but i do loose in inches. So get your measuring tape out girl, and start measuring before you start. I promise, you'll like the results.

  8. I was taking photos every Friday of my scale..it hasn't moved though in weeks...I'll join in the fun again!

oh and if you can do 25 push ups of any style your in pretty good shape to begin with. I can muster up 5-7 on my toes if I really push!

  9. I loved the Shred, I bought it did it once and then I really haven't had time to do it again. I'm not even procrastinating either . It's really hard but it's tried and true moves that will work if you do them.
